Natalie Mehra, Executive Director of the Ontario Health Coalition, presented to the Ontario Legislature’s Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs today. Here is the Ontario Health Coalition’s pre-budget submission. It contains updated data on public health care funding in Ontario (2nd lowest rate in Canada); public hospital funding in Ontario (lowest in Canada); other measures of care in hospitals; public hospital beds staffed and in operat ion in Ontario compared to the rest of Canada (we are dead last) and the OECD (we have dropped even lower than before and are now right in the bottom tier); long-term care wait lists; number of long-term care beds per person (2nd last in Canada); hands on care in long-term care homes (declining).
