An advocacy group continues to press the Ontario government to keep health care public. The Ontario Health Coalition is holding a virtual summit Thursday evening to fight privatization and protect public health care services.
Shirley Roebuck, chair of the Chatham-Kent, Wallaceburg-Walpole Island, and Sarnia-Lambton chapters says it will be an eye-opener for many local residents.
“We want everyone in our area to know that the present government is planning on privatizing hospitals, long term care, and home care,” Roebuck explains. “This is something that we must defeat or everyone will be paying extra for a lot of procedures.”
The online summit gets underway at 7 o’clock tomorrow evening. CLICK HERE for the link to register.
Meantime, Roebuck is encouraging residents to put up lawn signs and decals to protest any privatization of health care in the province. Those interested can contact her at 226-402-2724 or email goddess@bell.net.
