The Ontario Health Coalition released a new report Monday that looked at COVID-19 outbreaks in non-health-care settings in the lead up to the November lockdown.

“The numbers of people infected in workplace outbreaks far exceeds the general community spread of the virus in the following workplace sectors: construction; schools and daycares; retail, restaurants and entertainment; and public services,” the report says.

In addition to a large outbreak at a construction site in Waterloo, the report notes a nearly  87% increase in cases in schools and childcare settings, and a 71.6% bump in cases in retail, restaurants and entertainment.
