A pilot campaign to keep healthcare services local and reject privatization is starting in Windsor.
Executive Director of the Ontario Health Coalition Natalie Mehra says they’re teaming up with the Windsor-Essex chapter to go door-to-door looking for support.
“I think that we can really win this one,” says Mehra. “I mean I think people all across Ontario really believe in their community hospitals, I think people overwhelmingly want to have a community hospital that has a comprehensive range of services.”
Mehra says government attempts to cut thoracic cancer surgeries in Windsor is the perfect example for the need of the campaign wrapping up December 13. The campaign will move on to Chatham and London in January.
